This is the 4th year of Teddies 4 Kiddies distributing knitted teddy bears to the poor kids in the Philippines. We're happy to say that the number of kiddies receiving the teddies has increased significantly since we started the distribution in 2006 with only 59 teddy bears. This number has increased to 129 in 2007, 248 in 2008 and 356 in 2009!

There were three (3) groups of children who received the teddies as Christmas gifts last December 2009.

  1. Children With Cancer. These children all come from indigent filipino families and are supported by a non-profit organization called "Mga Kaibigan ng Mga Kabataang may Kanser (in English, "Friends of Children with Cancer").
  2. Physically and Mentally Challenged Children from the Sacred Heart Center. The Sacred Heart Centre is a program dedicated entirely to helping poor Filipino children, teenagers and young adults who are physically and mentally challenged and living in low income communities located within Metro Manila.
  3. Kids living in the vicinity of Blessed Sacrament Community located in Carmel Farm, San Jose Del Monte Bulacan. These kids together with their parents usually walk 1 to 3 hours just to attend mass every Sunday. Most of the people living in the community are workers in the farm around the area.
